Tell Your Community: Women Are the Key to Economic Recovery!
This year, International Women's Day and Women's History month in the United States coincided with a time of enormous turbulence and fear. The global economic meltdown is drastically reshaping our financial landscape and altering the way we live.
As activists and dedicated members of the global women's movement, we understand the importance of women's economic security. We know that when a woman is financially secure, her family is secure; and when families are secure so are communities and nations.
At such a critical time, we need to amplify women’s voices and leadership by investing in women-led solutions, and by making sure that women are present at the table where policy decisions are made. We also need to advocate for equal pay for equal work, and increased resources to support families, including access to education, employment and healthcare.
