Be Globally CoolTM
According to a recent New York Times and CBS News poll, 78% of Americans believe that global warming requires action “right away.”
One-third of Good Deed revenues are dedicated to lasting solutions to climate change, positioning all products carrying the Good Deed Foundation logo as one of the first “Climate FriendlyTM” families of products. The other two-thirds of Good Deed revenues will go towards helping lift women and children out of poverty. Good Deed provides lasting solutions to climate change and offsets the carbon imprint of its co-branded products through the following programs:
Good Deed Light – Good Deed donates compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to nonprofit organizations. The free CFLs save the non-profit organizations money (leaving more money for their poverty programs) by eliminating the cost of buying bulbs and reducing electric bills. At the same time, the free CFLs also help solve global warming by reducing electricity consumption. Good Deed Foundation encourages nonprofit organizations to also distribute surplus bulbs to their members in need. Good Deed Foundation’s goal is to distribute one million bulbs to organizations and people in need.
Replacing just one 60 watt incandescent light bulb with a 6,000 hour compact fluorescent light bulb will save from $16.79 to $62.50 per year in energy bills and keep 176 to 647 pounds of CO2 out of the atmosphere, according to the US Energy Information Administration, Official Energy Statistics.
Good Deed Foundation's goal is to distribute 1 million bulbs to organizations and people in need, thereby reducing global warming gases by 176 million to 647 million pounds of CO2. This will reduce electricity bills by $16 million to $62 million annually and save an additional $3 million in bulb costs for non-profit organizations and people in need.
Women’s Funding Network – will donate to programs that enable women and girls to pro-actively advance projects to reduce global warming solutions. The United Nations Security Council has stated that global warming could more than double the number of people affected by poverty over the next 20 years.

Important Statistics
It is estimated that by 2010 there will be 50 million people who have been displaced due to droughts and flooding caused by global warming, contributing to an increase in poverty.
One third of Good Deed revenues will be dedicated to global warming solutions, positioning all of the products carrying the Good Deed logo as one of the first “Global Warming Neutral” families of products.
Why your Good Deed is important:
- The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations reported, with 90% confidence, that carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases from human activities have been the main causes of warming since 1950.
- The rate of warming in the last 50 years was double the rate observed over the last 100 years and will continue to rise. [Source: NASA]
- In the face of higher sea levels and more intense storms, coastal communities face greater risk of rapid beach erosion and damage from destructive storms like the intense nor’easter of April 2007. [Source: NASA]
- Global warming will shift major climate patterns, possibly prolonging and intensifying the current drought in the U.S. Southwest. [Source: NASA]
- Well over 650 million people live in coastal regions where the elevation is less than 10 meters above sea level. These communities will become increasingly prone to storm damage and flooding as sea levels rise. Among the most vulnerable countries is Bangladesh, which has low elevation, a high population density, and is one of the world’s poorest nations.
